How to Play Word ChaCha

Word ChaCha is a turn-based English word battle for friends, matched players, and casual computer practice. Each move must create one or more complete connected words.

Core Rules

  1. The opening word must cover the center CC square.
  2. Later plays connect to an existing letter. Every valid crossing word formed by the move scores points.
  3. Only newly placed tiles activate the bonus square beneath them.
  4. Before pressing Play, move staged letters to another open square or return them to the rack.
  5. An unlocked vowel may move one adjacent square horizontally, vertically, or diagonally when used in a new word.
  6. Moving multipliers change position after turns. One ordinary-looking square may conceal the Black Hole.
  7. Choose Turn Based play for relaxed asynchronous turns or Time Based play for one-minute player turns.
  8. The game ends when the tile pool is exhausted or neither player has a legal move.

Winning

Build efficient crossings, use high-value ChaCha letters on active multipliers, and protect flexible vowels. The player with the highest score when the match ends wins.
